Treatments For The Face

There is a lot written, spoken and sung about the human visage. It is definitely one of the most crucial parts of the body because it is the most exposed and people can draw a lot of inferences about a person just by looking at their face. Since ever, there has always been a lot of concern about facial care and enhancement. The ancient people used herbal techniques to improve their beauty and primitive forms of plastic surgery in order to correct abnormalities with the face.

Today, of course, these methods have become more sophisticated though the germ of the idea still remains the same. For example, you need to look at plastic surgery of the face done in today’s times. It is quite unchanged from the procedures adopted by its inventor, Sushruta, thousands of years ago. Sushruta was also the inventor of the Ayurvedic form of medicine.

Let us take a look at some of the face treatment and cosmetic methods that are popularly used today.

Face Treatment – Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, also popularly known as nose job, is a surgical corrective method for the nose. Both grafting and removal are done, depending on what kind of shape the person wants for the nose. The technique is implemented by a plastic surgeon and comes under the domain of cosmetology. For a rhinoplasty procedure, an incision is first made into the nasal septum, from where the inside cartilage of the nose is exposed. After the correction has been done, the nasal septum is resealed. The approximate rhinoplasty cost depends on various factors such as the nature of the job, the qualifications and expertise of the surgeon, the area in which the treatment is taken, etc.

Face Treatment – Dermabrasion

In this skin resurfacing technique, the skin of the face is literally sanded with an abrasive surface so that it can be smoothened. The intention is to remove the top layer of the skin which might be blemished and expose the healthier, younger skin that lies within. Dermabrasion is often a painful method, but it is one of the cheaper methods available for face cosmetology. It can cause reddening and swelling of the skin for the first few days.

Face Treatment – Vibraderm

Vibraderm is a newly invented skin resurfacing technique for face cosmetology. It is short for vibradermabrasion. In this method, a small tool, also known as vibraderm, is worked on various parts of the skin. This tool produces vibrations on the skin. Because of these vibrations, the top layers of the skin are scraped off and the younger layers that lie beneath them are exposed. Due to this, the perosn’s face looks more youthful and exuberant.

Face Treatment – Mole Removal

Mole removal is one of the oldest facial treatment methods followed in the world. Even today, the methods of mole removal remain more or less the same. They are removed with a sharp tool called a scalpel after numbing the area. In some cases, laser surgery can be used.

Face Treatment – Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are used in a Mole removal technique known as derma-exfoliation. In this technique, the chemical peels are directly put over the face so that they cause reactions on the top layer skin and remove it. The newly exposed skin is smoother, tauter and younger-looking.
